Planting the white crosses

WALT: commemorate Anzac day

On the 23rd of April is when rm11 and 12 planted white crosses into the ground next to the Glen Innes School sign. We made the crosses for the soldiers who died during WW1. Mercer was 17 and he was the first to die in the war. That is why we had made the white crosses for the remembrance of the soldiers who fought at war.

This soldier Mercer fought in world war 1. He was the first to die in world war 1 at the age of 17. This soldier was the youngest fighting in WW1 and died at a young age. This soldiers was really young to die but he is a hero to NZ.

Walt: Problem solving

Today in maths we had a visitor and the visitor’s name is Mrs Bina. Mrs Bina it the top maths facilitator in New Zealand. Mrs Bina came to Rm11 to to teach us more about maths. Today she taught us how to solve fractions and another ways to call ⅔ and other fractions. First we had to solve a problem called birthday cake. Everyone thought is was easy but actually it was hard. Then Mrs Bina made it easier for us to solve the problems. Mrs Bina put us in groups of three so that each one of us can cooperate. In my group was Ifa and Lauren. We all had a talk and then Mrs Bina said to choose the one who has a great way of solving the problem. In my group Ifa and Lauren said that I had a better understanding on how to solve the problem.
