In this screenshot I got a 4A in writing. I improved very well. The starting of the year I was a 4B and then now I am a 4A so I move two steps. Now I am over the national standard which I am very happy.

This is a screenshot of my e asttle results of my maths. As you can see the blue mark on the bar shows the national standard where you have to be. The red ring shows where you are at. So I am at the the national standard where I am supposed to be and I am really proud of myself.

This is a screenshot of a math game that I played this morning. It is called game pond probability. It is a game if there is a chance for a frog catching a red firefly. This game is pretty easy because you just have to find the chance if the frog is going to get a red firefly. So I really enjoyed it and hope to play it again.

I think the the All black will waste Australia. I wish them the best for this weekends game and hope you take the world cup. I reckon that my star play for the game is Ben smith. GO BEN SMITH!! I also think that the All black will get a total score of 52 to 34 for the wallabies. GO THE ALL BLACKS

Walt: write a reflection on my basic facts results

As you can see, this is a screenshot of my basic facts results. I got 672 as my results, which means I did better than my old score. I am pretty proud of myself because the last time I was given my basic facts, I did not know my LCM and HCF. But now I know my LCM and HCF. The only thing that I didn’t improve on was prime numbers. It’s okay because I still get to practice even more. My next learning step is learning how to divide big numbers.

Dear Mrs Parks

I would like to say thank you for your help in my writing. At first I was struggling and my grade level was low, so I wasn’t pleased. But thanks to your help. I have improved heaps in my writing.

The video clips bought the most joy to me. It was so cool watching the video and it really blew my mind. The videos were so inspiring like the black piranha.  The videos are also easy to describe too. We also did art based on the black piranha video.

I understand the diamante poem that we did. The thing that was hard to do was thinking of words that describe the thing or person and to make it easier for me, my teacher said we had to do it on the black piranha. So, the diamante poem was easy and that was the one I understood.

Another thing with me is editing. Sometimes, when I have finished writing a story, I just don’t check it which is a problem. Usually I don’t edit it because I haven't finished my work so I use my editing time to finish it off. But now, I have to write faster so I have time to edit and then I won’t have any trouble.

Now that I understand how to write my stories properly, I can also edit my work. I would like to say thank you again for your help in my writing.

Today in maths I did my basic facts on prototec. As you can see now I have got all of it right. It is so easy because I know my times tables, division, percentages, fractions, square roots, exponents and factors of numbers. So basic facts is easy but you have to know it all if you want to get to a higher stage.

Today in maths I had to add fractions. On the right there is a screenshot of my scores, 10 out of 10. It is really is because you just have to add the top number which is the numerator and the denominator, the bottom number doesn't change because its a whole number. So this maths quiz is really easy which I already know.

This is a screenshot of the game that I had played and it's called the ratio blaster. In this game you have shoot the alien ship to stop them from coming to Earth. To do this you will have to shoot the alien ship with the fraction on it. There is an antenna which says 3 to 9 and you have to shoot the alien ship to get the equivalent fraction.

Last week was Samoan week and during the Samoan week we did Samoan art. Samoan art is beautiful. Samoan art is so creature to normal art. The first picture is a Samoan art from the internet and the bottom one it the one that I         copied. 

Perimeter and Area

Walt: solve problems using perimeter and area

I remember that perimeter is measuring the sides of a shape using a ruler. I also remember what the meaning of area is. Area is trying to fit things into your backyard, the lounge, kitchen or any other area you can think of fitting things. In other words, it is used to fill things in the inside of a shape.

I have a good understanding of area and perimeter because my teacher Mrs Ramkolowan taught me what the meaning of perimeter and area is.

WALT: commemorate Anzac day

On the 23rd of April is when rm11 and 12 planted white crosses into the ground next to the Glen Innes School sign. We made the crosses for the soldiers who died during WW1. Mercer was 17 and he was the first to die in the war. That is why we had made the white crosses for the remembrance of the soldiers who fought at war.

New Zealand war heros

This soldier Mercer fought in world war 1. He was the first to die in world war 1 at the age of 17. This soldier was the youngest fighting in WW1 and died at a young age. This soldiers was really young to die but he is a hero to NZ.

Today in maths we had a visitor and the visitor’s name is Mrs Bina. Mrs Bina it the top maths facilitator in New Zealand. Mrs Bina came to Rm11 to to teach us more about maths. Today she taught us how to solve fractions and another ways to call ⅔ and other fractions. First we had to solve a problem called birthday cake. Everyone thought is was easy but actually it was hard. Then Mrs Bina made it easier for us to solve the problems. Mrs Bina put us in groups of three so that each one of us can cooperate. In my group was Ifa and Lauren. We all had a talk and then Mrs Bina said to choose the one who has a great way of solving the problem. In my group Ifa and Lauren said that I had a better understanding on how to solve the problem.

Positioning fractions on the number line

Walt: position fractions on the number line.

In this game you have to place the fractions on the number line. First you will start on level one and then as the levels get higher, the fractions get harder. To me this game was easy because I have a good understanding of fractions. I would like to learn more fractions.

NZ beats AUS

Kane Williamson, you are sensational. Because of you NZ is on top of the table for the cricket world cup. Great job.

My advice to the Black Caps

 The key to winning is communicating and working as a team. Good luck black Caps. I hope you win the cricket world cup.
